Kids Choir Registration
Your voice matters. Let's hear it. Hey kids — you know that feeling when a song gets stuck in your head and you just have to sing it? What if there was a place where that was the whole point? Makom Choir is a Jewish children's singing group right here in Cleveland. It's a space where you learn how to use your voice — really use it — while discovering the beauty hiding inside ancient Hebrew texts and Jewish music. You don't need to be a "good singer." You just need to love to sing. Under the direction of musician and Nariya Cleveland founder, Rabbi Micah Shapiro, Makom Choir is where kids develop a real love of music, nurture their Jewish identity, build a relationship with sacred Hebrew text, and learn what it feels like to sing as part of a performance group. And the best part? The semester ends with a celebratory Hanukkah concert on Thursday, December 10 — your moment to stand on stage and show everyone what you've been building together. What you'll do: ✦ Sing — a lot. Jewish music, Hebrew text, songs that get inside your bones ✦ Learn how to sing in a group — harmony, timing, listening, lifting each other up ✦ Connect with Jewish identity and sacred text through the most natural thing in the world — your own voice ✦ Build something together with other kids who love music as much as you do ✦ Perform at the Hanukkah concert — the stage is yours The Details: Semester 1: October 6th – December 10th Semester 2: January 5th - May 25th 4:15 – 5:15 PM Optional Hang Time 3:45 – 4:15 PM (snack + hang out before rehearsal) Ages | 6–11 Location | The Shabbat Club | | $180 per child | Financial accommodations are available for families who need it.
